Why this song is awesome:
Wow. What a wail. It’s like she’s screaming for her life, as if a murderer was standing behind her. Or a fanged clown. Or a tax attorney. You know, something scary. Gives me chills every time I hear it.
And this album name is one of the best ever. Just say it: Dark Side Of The Moon. Poetry.
Bands who say albums are dead are nuts. They’re usually the ones who write singles driven music (ahem, BEP) and just aren’t capable of making a piece of work as perfect and complete as this. But a band that writes a great album, well hell. It defines them, and along with it, it defines who you are. Albums (and songs) like this one are loved for a reason: they’re art.
Best lyrics:
And then one day you find / Ten years have got behind you / noone told you where to run / You missed the starting gun
You run and you run/ To catch up with the sun/ But it’s sinking
The sun is the same / In a relative way / But you’re older / Shorter of breath / And one day closer to death
Now that’s one hell of a way of saying ‘seize the day.’

P.S. This making-of video showcases the creativity and talent (possibly drug-fueled) that went into recording this track.
