Why this song is awesome:
Sleeping like a snowman / Solid as a block of ice / Will you still remember me / When we’re both five hundred and five?
Robot love song. ‘Nuff said.

Why this song is awesome:
This is probably my favourite love song ever. Especially that warbly, gorgeous voice singing these lines:
I will love you till I die / And I will love you all the time / So please put your sweet hand in mine / And float in space and drift in time
If this song doesn’t give you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside, then you’re probably made of stone. And that’s pretty amazing, because stones are usually inanimate.

Why this song is awesome:
Listen to this:
Got lost in the places I’ve been / I should go out with my friends / I’d go tonight but I know you’ll be there too
For me, this bottle of wine / Is to slow down my mind / And forget the things that I knew
Who hasn’t been there? Feeling lost and bummed, thinking about how plans and loves can slip through your hands like water.
But it’s amazing how a song this sad can also be so soothing. The sweet melody is like a lullabye that hugs you tight and says: “Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.”
If you know someone that’s having a rough time, wrap them in a blanket, play them this song and watch how soon they start to smile. Promise.
Artist: John Mayer
Song: Edge of Desire
Album: Battle Studies

Why this song is awesome:
Just listen to these words:
So young and full of running / All the way to the edge of desire / Steady my breathing, silently screaming / I have to have you now
Don’t say a word, just come over and lie here with me / ‘Cause I’m just about to set fire to everything I see / I want you so bad I’ll go back on the things I believe / There I just said it, I’m scared you’ll forget about me
Now if that doesn’t say “young love,” I don’t know what does.
Whatever your opinion of John Mayer, it’s hard to argue that this song is anything but beautiful, moving, and relatable.
Because who hasn’t been there, where you feel like the end of a relationship is the end of the world, and you’ll never recover?
I just love how no matter what I’m doing, this song can always make me stop and remember past loves, with all their highs, lows, mistakes, lessons and triumphs. And immaturity. But that was mostly on my part.

Song: Sigh No More

Why this song is awesome:
There’s a lot of reasons to love this song. It has one of those melodies where the voice and the words blend so perfectly that they lift you off the ground. For me though, the greatness of this song is thanks to one simple lyric:
Love will not betray you, dismay or enslave you / It will set you free / To be more like the man you were made to be.
Beautiful, moving and true. This song reminds me in a very real way how important love really is. We’re the best versions of ourselves when we experience the love of another human being, aren’t we?
